'SINGELA' is a black-owned and managed South African engineering company which prides itself in the understanding of the South African Industries, Markets and Services. The company was established in 2017 as a consequence of a restructuring and unbundling exercise at Gcwabe Investments (PTY) Ltd. SINGELA CONSULTING ENGINEERS is a duly incorporated Engineering Consultancy, Construction and Specialist Project Management firm. The company was formed in response to the shortage of black owned and managed specialist engineering firms in the South African built environment, engineering and consultancy landscape.

The Company has professionals that offer multi-disciplinary engineering solutions to client specifications. Our highly professional team of Consulting Engineers and Technology Specialists has a wealth of local and International EPCM experience delivering turnkey solutions in Mining and Mineral Processing, Petrochemical, Pulp and Paper, Water and Sanitation, Renewable Energy, and Built Environment industries. SINGELA has assembled a strong multi-disciplinary engineering team which provides technical support and design services to a range of industries and government departments; these services include project preparation and custom equipment designed, installation and commissioning.

MALUSI BHEKA MKHIZE, MSAIEE

Managing Director & Head: Renewable Energy & Projects

MSc (UP), BSc. Hons.(UP), B.Tech. (TUT), N. Diploma Electrical Engineering (L/C) Instr.(DUT).

Malusi is the Founding and Managing Member of SINGELA Consulting Engineers, he has over 16 years of Managerial and Engineering experience that spans across multiple industries/sectors including, Renewable Energy, Mining and Mineral Processing, Automotive, Food and Fast Consumer Moving Goods (FMCG), with Tier1 Leading Multinational companies such as Lonmin Plc, BMW (SA), VW (SA), Ford Motor Company (SA), and Beacon Sweets & Chocolates; and has held roles such as Senior Manager (GM) (Lonmin), Automation Manager (Lonmin), Project Manager: E/E (BMW SA), and various other technical roles.

Malusi has spent the past 4 years of his career consulting in the Renewable Energy (REIPP Program) with specific focus in Solar PV technology , he has been involved in the development of over 150 MW of Solar PV Project development and continues to provide critical support to various local and International Project Developers in the Renewable Energy field.

Career Highlights; Golden Key for academic excellence (UP, 2009), Silver Task Award (DUT, 2009), Established the Automation Department (Lonmin), Operational Excellence achieving 145% BSC performance (Lonmin, 2011), 1000 LTI free days (Lonmin, 2011), 60MW Solar PV Project (REIPPP).

THABO QHOLOSHA

Head: Engineering Services

Thabo is an innovative, energetic, and highly experienced engineer with well over 25 years of Managerial and Engineering experience that spans across multiple industries/sectors including, Petrochem, Power and Energy, Sugar, Pulp and Paper, Food and Water. He has held the following roles in the past, Design Engineer (BOSCH & Assoc.),Director and Co-Founder of IGODA Projects one of the biggest black owned consulting engineering firm in KZN.

Career Highlights; Founding Member (IGODA), successful completion of Multi-Million Dollar oilrig projects for Chevron (American) and SANANGOL (Angolan oil Co.) respectively.

SANDILE THWALA

Head: ICT Services

N.Dip Elec. Eng. (VUT), B.Com Informatics (UNISA), PDBA (Wits), MBA [Candidate] (Wits), Cert in Advanced Topics in Strategy (University of La Verne - Ontario, CA).

Sandile is a highly effective professional with over 15yrs of experience that spans across multiple industries/sectors including, Industrial Automation, Banking and ICT. He has held the following roles in the past; Systems Engineer, Technical Manager, Senior Technical Services Manager and Regional Head - Technical Services (Africa and Latin America).

Career Highlights; Building and Managing High Performance Clusters (PBMR). Launching Vodacom Mozambique’s National Monitoring platform (Siemens). Putti􀅶g togethe􀆌 a highly capable team (with the lowest staff turnover) to service customers in the Africa region (Redknee).
